Ana is a native of Albuquerque, born to a family with multi-generational ties to New Mexico.   She holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico.  Ana takes great pride in preserving and sharing the cultural and culinary traditions of her New Mexico heritage through her writing.  Besides her novel, she is the author of several children’s picture books including Tía’s Tamales, Benito’s Bizcochitos, Chiles for Benito, and Benito’s SopaipillasShe is also the author of two cookbooks, The Seasons: A Cookbook for Life and Harvesting Our Heritage: Healthy Cooking and Eating for Life.  She works in PR, marketing and communications.
